Tribute Bouquet for HM Queen Elizabeth.

Updated: Apr 5, 2024

I wanted to create something that would be both fitting and symbolic, to remember and celebrate the incredible life and reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The first flower that sprang to mind was Lisianthus, affectionately known as Lizzy. They are both stunning and elegant, symbolic of gratitude and I’ve chosen purple, to represent the Crown.

Freesias are symbolic of motherly love, they remind me of my Mum, and a fitting tribute to the Nation’s Mother. Wait and see how beautifully they blossom in the vase.

Limonium is the longest lasting flower in my range, to represent her incredible 70 year reign.

Of course, there had to be some roses in there, so I’ve opted for pale yellow, a colour that she wore so well.

Because daffodils, for Wales, aren't pet friendly I have replaced them with yellow gerberas, which are also great for cheering us all up!

I would have loved to add some traditional heather to represent both Scotland and Northern Ireland but its place I’ve added some stunning Astilbe, also a type of heather and it symbolises dedication and patience.

Pussy willow is my signature stem, again representing longevity but also playfulness and whilst her Majesty dedicated her entire life to service, we know she had an incredible sense of fun, as we all saw with her Paddington Bear sketch!

Finally a sprig of rosemary, as was incorporated into the floral arrangement that accompanied her on her final journey.

The flowers are then wrapped in recycled blue kraft paper with a gold ribbon, to represent the colours of the Commonwealth flag.
